Yes indeed!! We are extremely proud to announce that STERBHAUS is confirmed for Rock Harz Open Air 2012 in Ballenstedt 12-14 July. Needless to say – this is probably the greatest booking we have secured so far and we are extremely excited to be able to perform alongside Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Paradise Lost, Rage, Moonsorrow… oh well the list goes on. See you in Ballenstedt in July Germany!!!

We’ll start to regularily update you on the situation of the new album. As many of you may know we recorded a new album the summer of 2011 but due to delays in the mixing and the fact that we’ve been out playing alot (incl the 5 week tour of Chile) among other things, we haven’t been able to say much about the release.

We have some choices now on how to release the album and we hope to have made a decision the coming weeks. We are aiming to get it out during the summer or at the latest at the end of the summer. But before that we’ll start releasing teasers and stuff so yeah… you know… “stay tuned” …we have been busy with alot of crazy junk but now it’s time to focus on the album! FINALLY!!

The album will be called “Angels for Breakfast… And God for Lunch” and right now the art is being made by renowned artist Gyula Havanczák. You should check out his site at www.hjules.com as you will defenitely recognize alot of his work, and we’re pretty excited about this of course

Alright! So we’ve been home from Chile for a bit more than a month and now it’s off to Germany to play the Metal-Franconia Festival. First gig since Chile, and to celebrate this we will be selling patches at the venue for the first time. The shop on this site will be updated next week with new items etc… seems we actually forgot that! Haha… well well… A sneak peak of the patches:

Yesterday we actually arrived home to Sweden again so it is defenitely high time to recap the final part of the tour report . So here goes…

After finishing those dates covered in “pt1″ and after slowly (very slowly I might add) coming back to life after that brutal afterparty that lasted to the night after we headed out for a photoshoot at the same location as we shot the video. That is; the pigs slaughterhouse. Might as well take advantage of enviroments we don’t really have in Sweden. The photographer is Ricardo Toledo who is also responsible for most of the live shots we’ve posted in the blog.

So to the stench of either rotting flesh or basic animal excretion (that for some reason where lying in enormous piles along the road up to the ruins), we drank some water, some beer and started out with some really crappy shots (haha! Not Mr Toledos fault though – it seems Sterbhaus needs some crappy poses before entering a good mode and a good vibe for great shots). So here is a small sample of the results:

…And after shooting we did the one and only thing that might be considered tourism or sightseeing. Instead of going straight back home we embarked on a kinda windy seaside trip just for the fun of it. Sterbhaus on the cliffs outside Valparaiso and Viña del Mar:

And then back to “Casa de La Muerte” for one day off before doing the three days straight finale of the tour. And the first of those dates where the show at Rock y Guitarras in Santiago. Great venue and a large stage and we where very excited to play (with Hector Vera responsible for the sound for the last time on the tour).

And then… just before entering the stage, the bullshit starts to hit the fan. For this show we are ordered by someone involved with the venue (not the owner apparantly though) to skip the intro. This intro we use is not even 1:30 minutes long and when people without mandate or brain for that matter feels it appropriate to mess with our performance we go fucking mad I tell you. This character obviously had access to the sound though and we couldn’t play the intro without is approval.
So we where faced with two options. One suggestion (actually from the tour manager) was to pack up our stuff and head straight home without doing the gig… the other was obviously to do the gig but without intro. All the bullshit that goes into this discussion takes about 3 or 4 minutes… To think: if that intro had been used right away we would actually have saved time on the performance. 

Well well, it doesn’t seem like much of a problem but a show is a show and when You take your shit over the Atlantic to travel around in Chile playing for hungry metalheads You want to deliver what is supposed to be delivered. We enter the stage mad as hell and instead of an intro I grab the microphone and thrash the imbecile who saw it fit to mess with the show for all I am worth (cancelling isn’t an option for us since those in the venue who have payed to see the performance defenitely is not to blame for mishaps like this). And we play angry and full of hate and…

…we rip off the best performance of the entire tour this evening. Anger is fuel.

The day after is at a venue further away in Santiago called Bar 38. In all honesty there was alot of questions and issues about this venue and whether we should cancel it or not because of security issues. The bar is located in a part of Chile where there apparantly is more crime and rumours from other bands and people said that it was “risky”. Well, You don’t play metal if you want to play it safe all the time (at least that’s the general idea – our main concern was whether we would have all our equipment stolen or destroyed so we would be able to do the last show of the tour the day after), but we decided to go for it and it turned out to be just bloody great. All security issues where handled and the backstage area left little to desire …and for “Destryo el Fuego” (Destroy the Fire in Spanish) we had Javier from Break.Down borrowing the bass leaving me with just a microphone. Hence a chance to join the moshpit raging at the stageside. Viva Chile!

Finale of the entire tour is held at “La Puerta Estelar” since the other venue in Valparaiso burned down (se pt1 of the Tour-report). It’s a small place with no basic stage lighting (just a blue:ish death-star like lamp above the crowd and a weird projector image across the entire stage and in our faces as well ) but we don’t care much for that and after an intense show we invite our great friends in Break.Down for the final song of the entire Bajo Multa tour 2012. Johnny grabs Jimmys guitar, Christian grabs the drumsticks, Javier on bass, and Eddie share either a microphone or a 1 litre glass-bottle of beer (yes! Those excist in Chile!). Jimmy and Bingan does of course stay on the stage and on this last “Destryo el Fuego” we all go insane playing, headbanging or just drenching the venue in beer. And when the last note is hit we are all touched, extremely happy but also slighty melancholic that it is all over for this time. But there you go! An insane tour and so many memorable moments, characters and so many brand new friends along the way.

It’s hard to add something decent after such a finale! We’re all extremely happy to have done this tour together so we party the rest of the time (which is basically something like five or six days). We get the video edited and completed by Carlos Toro and have a BBQ for that together with him and his crew. By the way; This video will be released just before the album but right now it is unfortunately hard to say when this might be. A final farewell party is held two days before leaving and then off to the airport and more than 26 hours of airportmadness after which we can set foot on Swedish (very cold) soil.
