So! Sterbhaus finally arrives in Chile to embark on the Bajo Multa tour together with Break.Down and a bunch of other great bands such as Rajavana, Andragon and others… (more to follow on that later on). This country treats us extremely well and where’re obviously here to make alot of great new friends aside from performing and basically having a good time.

Sterbhaus in Chile

We arrived on sunday more than week ago and have spent the time meeting alot of people, drinking and preparing for the first gig and the videoshoot. The gig at Huevo in Valparaiso was bloody great and was obviously the first time Sterbhaus performed in South America. But this report will cover the videoshoot we did yesterday (monday 23 january) for the song “Insecticide” from the upcoming album. This is the first professional videoshoot we have done so far and we where pretty dumbstruck when we entered the area where we were to record.

The place of the shoot is about 30 minutes away from where we live and we go by several cars carrying music equipment as well as video stuff and when we arrive to the road leading to the spot it has been completely blocked. Probably to keep people away since the area is an old pigs-slaughterhouse ruined by earthquakes and hell knows what. So, for Sterbhaus and the team that means carrying all the stuff by hand up a great hill in the hot sunlight trying to keep away from getting a blistering sunburn. I suppose we needn’t state the obvious that we are the pale gringos of Chile right now and want to keep it that way at least for this video ;-)

Christian of Break.Down assists as drumtech and all-in-all drumprovider as well as driver for his gear and his assistance is a life saver. Eddie Parra of Break.Down is our ultimate guide (well for the entire trip as well), translator, friend and f*cking awesome bloke. Man, this guy is the shit for us during our stay. Well, as we’re on the topic of namedropping extraordinary blokes then Johnny (Jotun) of Break.Down needs to be mentioned as well, as he is the one who basically pulled together the entire Bajo Multa tour!! I’m pretty sure we will be mentioning him more on other reports.

It’s pretty hot in Chile during the summer and we can’t shoot in plain daylight so after “suiting up” we start filming at about 19 hrs.

These guys work fast! We run thru the song a couple of times including individual shots and then we’re done! The only one actuarly hearing the song is Bingan on the drums so the rest of us has to play unplugged to the drums and with me (=Marcus) screaming my ass off. Well, that’s how it goes and in the end… that’s a wrap!!

…Carlos Toro and crew + Sterbhaus

So, we pack things up and head down to the cars and by this time the mosquitos have all decided that we are to be the main course. This slaughter house went from being a place pigs met their end to somewhere human flesh, blood and sweat is the banquet for tiny f*cking bugs.

We’re not going to show you snap shots or anything yet of this video as we want to be closer to an actual date of releasing the album. But we end this report with this little piece of Sterbhaus eye-candy.

And the song? Yeah, I know I mentioned what song it is, and it bloody says so in the topic as well… “Insecticide”…
